Support Rewada Abu Alata’s Displaced Family in Gaza

Rewada Abu Alata and her family have been displaced more than fifteen times. Currently, they are sheltering in the Shujaiya neighborhood in northern Gaza. Rewada’s husband, Abdullah, and their son, Ezz el-Din, are facing unimaginable hardships as they struggle to survive in an area constantly under threat of violence, destruction, and displacement.

The family lives in constant fear, and they lack access to basic necessities like food, water, medicine, and shelter. Their situation is dire, and they need urgent assistance to survive.

What Your Donation Will Do:

Your donation will help ensure that Rewada’s family has access to:

Food and Water: A monthly estimate of C$2,000 for food.

Cleaning Supplies: Around C$1,400 for essential hygiene and household supplies.

Medical Care and Necessities: Approximately C$4,000 for medication and other needs for the extended family that Abdullah supports.

Together, they need C$7,000 each month for their immediate survival.

Long-Term Goal:

In the long run, Rewada’s family hopes to relocate to a safer location outside Gaza. This will require an estimated C$40,000 to cover evacuation costs, including transportation and resettlement expenses for their family. With the Rafah Border Crossing currently closed, we are collecting funds to provide immediate relief and to prepare for their possible evacuation once borders reopen.

Their Journey of Survival:

Rewada’s family has been forced to flee their home on foot, leaving behind all their belongings. Food, medicine, and basic supplies are either extremely expensive or impossible to find.

Current Goal:

Our current goal is C$56,000, but this may change depending on the evolving situation and the costs of relocation. The money raised will go toward supporting Rewada’s family with essentials like food, water, and healthcare, and towards saving for their future and possible evacuation.

The family has been observing Ramadan with patience and gratitude, despite the overwhelming hardships they face. While many prepare for Eid with excitement, for them, it is just another day of survival. They have never known the joy of true celebration, no festive meals, no gifts for their children, no sense of ease.

Now, things are even worse. After the ceasefire has been broken, making survival even more dangerous. Hospitals are being attacked, medical care is nearly impossible to access, and food which is already scarce is now unbearably expensive. Every day is a fight to stay alive.

But they are human, just like us. They deserve to sleep in peace, eat in peace, love freely, and stay with their families without fear. Their babies deserve to grow up and see the world, just like any other child. Their lives hold value, even when the world refuses to see it.

As Eid approaches, they dream of even the simplest joys, a warm meal, a moment of peace, the chance to see their children smile. But without help, even these small blessings remain out of reach.
